The door on the street
There is no sign and no awning, only the number cut into the lintel. Ring once; somebody comes down. If the bell is sticking, telephone and we will meet you outside.
The cold arch
Four degrees cooler than the street in July, which is why the bicycles and the two stools live here. Bags can stay in the arch while the paperwork is done.
The pots, and the first landing
Basil, rosemary and two lemon trees that go indoors in January. Cut what you want for the kitchen; the mint on the second step grows faster than we use it.
One key, one tag, no code
Brass, heavy, with the number stamped into the tag. We do not use key safes and never will. A second key is 15 € and comes back on the hook when you leave.

The green floor, painted in 1961 and left alone. Two balconies over the courtyard, one over the street. 203 has the only bath in the building. 175 € to 240 €.

Sixty-four steps and worth them. Low ceilings, long windows, and roofline on three sides. 303 opens onto the terrace that everybody in the house may use. 210 € to 310 €.
